The Alexandria Fair and Horse Show was established in 1856 by a group of 10 community minded persons to give the local people a place to exhibit their produce and animals to the public. Those ideals still hold true today. All members of the Fair Board are volunteers who work tirelessly to maintain a safe and enjoyable event for all.
The Campbell County Agriculture Society is a member of the Kentucky Association of Fairs and Horse Shows, Inc, Central Kentucky Horse Show Association, South Central Hackney Association and the Tri State Horse Show Association.
This fair is planned and conducted according to the Kentucky Department of Agriculture Regulations for the Use of State Funds.
The fair includes participation of area Horsemen, 4H, FFA, children’s activities, beauty pageants and local businesses and organizations.
Beauty pageants are held on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Horse shows run nightly on Friday through Monday and in the afternoon on Saturday through Monday.
The Fairground is located on Fairground Road in The City of Alexandria.
